What to Do If You’re Close to the 3% Limit

Updated over a month ago

If you have multiple open trades and your total floating loss is approaching 3%, you should reduce risk before the limit is reached.

Example

Account: $100,000
3% limit: $3,000

Current floating loss:

  • Trade 1: –$700

  • Trade 2: –$900

  • Trade 3: –$800

Total floating loss: –$2,400 (2.4%)

This is still allowed, but close to the danger zone.

To stay safe, you can close one losing trade.

For example:

  • Close Trade 3 (–$800)

New floating loss:

  • –$700

  • –$900

New total: –$1,600 (1.6%)

✅ Safely under the 3% limit
✅ Reduced risk
✅ Account remains compliant
